We're delighted to announce that our customers have donated almost £300 to an animal charity which provides homes for abandoned rabbits and other small pets.
In 2023 our nominated charity was Maria’s Animal Shelter, in Probus, near to Truro in Cornwall. Run by Maria Mulkeen, the charity provides a safe and secure home to pets and animals who are in need.
And through your generous checkout donations, you raised over £270 to help them!
Claire Walker, managing director of PolyPet, which makes the Kitty Cabin, said: “We wanted to find a suitable charity in Cornwall that we could help. Maria and her volunteers work tirelessly to provide care for a variety of animals that need rehoming, fostering or lifetime care. There are currently around 100 rabbits on a waiting list to even get into the shelter.
“Maria relies solely on donations to the charity which cover vets bills, short and long term medical care, bedding, food, electricity and too much else to mention.
“Our customers have been so generous by adding a small percentage at checkout when they buy a product from us and we’re delighted to be able to help Maria help these pets.”
Maria said: “Thank you very much for supporting us. The last 18 months have been very stressful due to the number of animals needing help. If it wasn't for people like you guys, our doors would be closed.”
We are now on the lookout for a charity for 2024.
